Heading south from Puerto Vallarta, Hwy 200 transverses the mountains as it finds its way to Manzanillo. An hour or so south is the mountain town of El Tuito. From here one can take a road to Mayto, a small little fishing village an hour west of El Tuito, and other areas of Cabo Corrientes.

Heading further south on Hwy 200 brings the highway close to coast again and along the way are numerous seaside towns popular to tourists and home owners who seek a quieter, quainter environment.
